VersaCAD User Site
Mention on VersaCAD's Customer User page is a Mr. James Beavers (see http://www.versacad.com/versacad/cust-jamesbeavers.htm While Googling "VersaCAD" I came across the site for Whitney Design Group. While not a lot (none?) of VersaCAD images, there were alot of Mr. Beavers' work, including more of the Hotel Project featured onVersaCAD's site. Thought that this might be of some motivational use to other VersaCAD/ Rhino users...

White Drawing Background
Time for a vote on this one? "Traditional" black background or "Windows Standard" white drawing area? Being an oldtimer, I was brought up so-to-speak, "drawing" on a black background. White is fine for word processing, spreadsheets etc. - but give me black to do CAD work. Long ago we set colour standards to use , amongst others, Yellow. Well, yellow on white is awfull hard on these old eyes
Enough said. Want to use a white drawing background? Here's a helpful hint. Use the v2donwht.lut that ships with VersaCAD. By default, the menu colour will be now appear as yellow - a very poor colour contrast. So, to change then menu or cursor colour and more, use Enviro. Start the Enviro program and under [S]creen you can change the colors of these items - for example, set the menu to 1 (which would normally be white), as with the v2donwht lut, it is now black. Black menu text on a white background - don't need to old bi-focals for this :)
Also, you can further "tweak" the colours - even saving as your own custom LUT. In VersaCAD, go to [O]utput>[D]isplay>[C]olor and adjust all/some of the colors. Hint: use the "[P]atch" menu option in order to see what you are doing as you do it.

Coming to a computer near you! According to the latest VersaCAD news letter of Octocber 2004, VersaCAd 2004 is now shipping. It has a niffty File Explorer feature, several AutoCAD SHX fonts for AutoCAD users that you may exchange drawings with and a number of additional symbol libraries.
Certainly am looking forward to taking this version out for a test drive! Also, accordinging to the same newsletter, VersaCAD 2004 for Mac OSX is now in Alpha testing. Sure would be nice if we cound get Mr. Lazear to post a couple of preliminary screen captures of this "new" VersaCAD sporting its OSX face - Tom????
One last note. Though there has only be a small handful of post - there has been some never-the-less over at the VersaCAD Forum - let's hear from you Vcad'ers!
